Buy Safe Products, Avoid Recalls!

When shopping for toys for children, it is necessary to make sure that you know which toys are safe to buy for your kids and which ones are hazardous. Many toys in stores have been recalled but the stores continue to shelf them. If you are not up to date with the recall list, then you might buy some really cool toys that your children will love to play with but these toys may contain some harmful materials. You need to be careful when purchasing toddlers toys or anything for babies especially because even a tiny amount of toxic substance present in toys can can be deadly for them.

It is a disturbing fact that dangerous toys are still sold in stores across the country, despite multiple laws that are put in place to protect children from toxic toys. Toy safety is a very important issue that parents cannot ignore. Although most of the toys on store shelves are considered safe, there continues to be quite a few toys that pose a range of safety hazards to small kids. With that in mind, parents and child care providers need to remain vigilant in order to avoid toy-related deaths and injuries. With more knowledge, the scope of unsafe toys has been widened to include toys that were considered to be safe such as those labeled as phthalate-free. Bear in mind that even some products labeled phthalate-free can contain the dangerous chemical.

Although manufacturers of toys should quickly recall products that are considered unsafe and make it available for parents the information they need to allow them to buy toys that are safe for their children, some of them care more about their bottom lines. You will have heard of many toy recalls on TV but there are many more toy recalls that are not published. Therefore, parents do not know that they are unsafe to use or buy. The government agency that is charged with keeping toys safe called The Consumer Product Safety Commission have released alerts and information on toy safety but there are still lots of manufacturers that are ignoring Congress and still sell toys laden with toxic materials. The Consumer Product Safety Commission cannot do much about existing toys that are already out on the shelves.
